Complete definitions for Stake.com terms — rakeback, provably fair, house edge, VIP, referral codes, and all key concepts explained clearly.
- Affiliate Code
- A code generated by a Stake affiliate partner. When entered at registration, it links the new account to the affiliate and activates associated benefits (typically rakeback). Synonymous with referral code on Stake.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money a player has available for gambling. Managing your bankroll (not betting more than you can afford to lose) is the most important discipline in responsible gambling.
- Bonus Code
- A code entered during registration or in a promotions section to unlock a bonus. On Stake.com, bonus codes function identically to referral codes and promo codes.
- Client Seed
- In provably fair gaming, a string provided by the player (auto-generated or custom) that combines with the server seed and nonce to determine game outcomes. The player can change it at any time.
- Crash (Game)
- A multiplier game on Stake Originals. A number rises from 1x and can crash at any moment. Players must cash out before the crash to win. House edge: 1%.
- Dice (Game)
- A provably fair prediction game where you set a target number and bet whether the random result is over or under it. Adjusting the probability changes the payout multiplier.
- Fiat Currency
- Government-issued money (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.). Stake.com does not accept fiat currency. All deposits and withdrawals are in cryptocurrency.
- Hash (SHA-256)
- A cryptographic function used in provably fair gaming. The server seed is hashed (SHA-256) before play begins, proving it existed before the round and was not changed after the result.
- House Edge
- The statistical advantage the casino holds on any game, expressed as a percentage. All Stake Originals have a 1% house edge. A lower house edge means more value for the player over time.
- KYC
- Know Your Customer — identity verification required by regulated gambling platforms. Stake.com may require KYC for large withdrawals or compliance reasons.
- Limbo (Game)
- A provably fair Stake Original where you set a target multiplier and win if the random result meets or exceeds it. House edge: 1%.
- Mines (Game)
- A provably fair Stake Original grid game (5x5). Click tiles to reveal gems (increase multiplier) or mines (lose bet). Configure the number of mines for different risk/reward ratios.
- Nonce
- An incrementing number in provably fair gaming that tracks the number of bets placed with the current seed pair. Every new bet increments the nonce, ensuring uniquely determined results.
- Plinko (Game)
- A Stake Original where a ball drops through a pegged pyramid and lands in a multiplier slot. Risk level (Low/Medium/High) affects the multiplier range.
- Promo Code
- A code used to unlock a promotion or bonus. On Stake.com, promo codes and referral codes are functionally identical — they are entered at registration to activate benefits like rakeback.
- Provably Fair
- A cryptographic system that allows any player to independently verify the fairness of any Stake Originals game result. Results are determined before play by a server seed hash, client seed, and nonce.
- Rakeback
- A return of a percentage of your total wagered amount as bonus funds. On Stake.com, rakeback is the primary welcome and ongoing benefit. It is earned on all wagers regardless of win/loss outcomes.
- Referral Code
- A code entered at registration on Stake.com to activate benefits (typically rakeback). Codes include BNUS, MAX2026, WIN60, and DEP10. Must be entered during registration — cannot be added afterward.
- RNG
- Random Number Generator — a system that produces unpredictable outcomes in casino games. Third-party slots and live dealer games use certified RNGs. Stake Originals use provably fair cryptographic systems.
- RTP
- Return to Player — the theoretical percentage of wagered money a game pays back over many rounds. A 99% RTP means £99 returned per £100 wagered on average. All Stake Originals have 99% RTP (1% house edge).
- Server Seed
- A random string generated by Stake before each game session. It is cryptographically hashed and shown before play so you can later verify results were predetermined and not altered.
- VIP Program
- Stake's loyalty program based on cumulative wagered volume. Tiers include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum I–VI, Diamond, and exclusive higher tiers. Higher tiers earn greater rakeback percentages.
- Volatility
- In slots and games, volatility describes how often and how much a game pays. Low volatility: frequent, small wins. High volatility: rare, large wins. Stake Originals have 1% house edge regardless of volatility equivalent.
- Wagering Volume
- The total amount of money wagered (bet). On Stake, VIP tier progression and rakeback are calculated based on total wagering volume. All game types contribute to your volume.
- Welcome Offer
- On Stake.com, the welcome offer is rakeback activated by a referral code at registration — not a traditional deposit match. This provides ongoing value rather than a one-time bonus.
